This Is Me

Hi there! I'm Kristine and it's so nice to meet you. I'd like to share with you a little bit about what keeps me going, my family.
I have an 8 year old daughter, Michaela. She is such a ray of sunshine. So incredibly sweet and polite. Bragging rights here-Last year in first grade, she was the only student in the history of her school to win the monthly certificate for being a model student TWICE in one year. And then I have another daughter, from my previous marriage, Haley. She's 19, in college and has a heart bigger than Texas. Her first spring break(this March), she was chosen to participate in a program down in New Orleans that helps communities in need.  In high school she was a Peer Group Leader (I could never had done that. I just wanted to be invisible in school.) and did work with Special Olympics. One proud mama here. Although, credit needs to be given to Haley's father and his wife for her turning out to be an exceptional young lady. Her dad is an awsome father and I couldn't have wished for a nicer woman for the both of them.
Now, Dave and I met just over 14 years ago and shortly after that I realized I was living with the equivalent of MacGyver! Seriously, he can rig up/fix/put together almost any thing with practically nothing!  You know that scene in "Apollo 13" when they had to put a square part in a round part? He would have been great! But really, he is my partner, my love and I don't know what I'd do without him.
Then there's my puppies, Ladie and Sadie. Chihuahua mixes that  have definitely earned the nickname "ankle biter". Sadie is the baby of the family. She'll be one in June and is as cute as can be. Be careful though, just like looking into Medusa's eyes will turn you to stone, looking into Sadie's eyes will make you melt!!
And my Ladie bug. She's my first dog as an adult. The irony, I didn't even want a dog. I wanted a cat. But no, Dave had to come home with the cutest puppy in the litter. Then, the darn thing jumped on my bed, in the middle of the night, and stole my heart! She is my best friend. We have such a special bond. I know that might sound silly but she saved my life and I love her as much as my daughters.
So that's my beautiful family and No, you can't have them.  :) Now, a little about me. Well, I love all things nature and in the animal kingdom with the exception of 'Speiders'. Anyone see Megamind? Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt (HELLO!!), very funny. Although my debilitating fear of spiders is SOOOO not funny. Had an encounter with a tarantula while I was driving through the Superstition Mts in AZ. There IT was, crossing in front of us. So I rolled the windows up AND locked the door. You know, just in case it's a super spider with opposable thumbs. Okay, now for happy thoughts. I think the best way for me to tell about myself  is to put it in list form. So here I go...

  1. My two favorite animals are polar bears and emperor penguins.
  2. Back in '94, I drove, alone from Mass to Ft Knox, KY and had the  time         of my life, even alone.
  3. I'm obsessed with The Walking Dead.
  4. My first meal that I cooked was fish with dill. I was 9 years old. Still             remember my dad taking me shopping for the ingredients.
  5. I thoroughly enjoy The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. "Happy little               trees."  Dave thinks I do it to annoy him!!
  6. My first project was back in '95 when I refinished a dresser my mom           gave me and it was so much fun!! From then on I was hooked.
  7. I talk to myself...alot. Like full conversations.
  8. This is just cool: My girls birthdays add up to 21 and the have the same numbers! Haley-04/02/96  Michaela-09/24/06
  9. I've had to many addresses to count, including 'no' address.

 12. I enjoy doing dishes!

 13. I use the exclamation mark way to much!! Even when I hand write!

 15. I can raise just my right eyebrow.

 16. I'm a lefty but bat righty in softball.

 18. I can hold my own in a game of Texas Hold Em'.

 19. I love the rain and I LOVE thunderstorms! (Intense storms in FL!)

 20. We moved down to Clearwater, FL in 7/'12 and moved back here to           Rhode Island in 10/'13. I'd rather be in Florida.

So, that's me and what I live for. I'd love to hear from you and the things you love most!  Drop me a note or leave a comment.
